Iguassu Falls
In spring 2023, I made a short trip to visit Iguassu Falls. I stayed at the Belmond Hotel inside the Brazilian National Park and walked the trails on both sides of the border
Iguassu meaning "big water". Also spelled Iguazu in Spanish and Iguagu in Portuguese
While overall I enjoyed the Brazilian side more, the trail starting at the Garganta station on the Argentina side should not be missed. It goes across the length of the Iguassu River on boardwalks leading to the top of the falls
Devil's Throat at the end of the boardwalk
Logistics were quite simple for a border crossing - a personal taxi was arranged from the hotel concierge. They allowed me to explore the Argentina trails on my own and picked me back up later in the evening to return to Brazil
The clear advantage to staying at the Belmond, the boardwalk here is empty compared to park operating hours. The Argentina side also has a hotel inside park boundaries
I came here every morning for sunrise, my favorite spot
