Causeway Coast Way
Pools of water from overnight rain on the Giants Causeway, part of the Causeway Coast Way which links the towns of Ballycastle and Portstewart in Northern Ireland (30 miles one way)
Day one: Ballycastle to Giants Causeway, overnight at Finn McCools Hostel, dinner at Maegden grilled cheese truck (motivation to finish the walk by 5pm)
Day two: Giants Causeway to Portstewart with brunch in Portrush, return bus to Ballycastle where I parked the rental car
Day three: Returned to Rope Bridge and Dunluce Castle which were both closed early in the morning when I reached them on the hike, sunset walk around White Rocks area
Waterfall coming down over the cliff from the storm
Short section of rocky coastline near Portbradden Harbour
Bush river at the end of Runkerry beach
Walking the sidewalk path through the town of Portballintrae
If not comfortable walking on a road with quick traffic and no sidewalk, the bridge would be a good starting or ending point instead of Ballycastle using the bus service
The water was especially green in the area around the bridge
The remains of the Dunluce Castle, which overlooks the coast
I carried water and snacks for each day and resupplied in towns along the route, if drinking from the rivers there are sheep in the area and a filter would be advised. All info for the hike can be found on Causewaycoastway.com
Aside from the obvious highlight of the Giants Causeway, my favorite area was walking along White Rocks beach
